The Essay is meant for Nigerian undergraduates and secondary school students.In a press release, First bank says that the competition is borne out of their belief in the products of the Nigerian Educational system. It is a worthy initiative, honestly. It warms my cockles that one of the greatest players in the Nigerian banking industry is expressing interest in a national agenda, demonstrated in this manner. Not as if alot of other banks have not done similar things or even better, it is not my prerogative to judge. But to accept that there is a problem and to ask for the role they can play, as a bank, whether suggestions get implemented or not, is an indication of discerning corporate policy and a touch of reality that is missing in alot of Nigerian establishments. Of course it is good to dream and wish for a better Nigeria, even one where cars run on water, but to ignore the realities on the ground is more than foolish, it is preposterous.

That is a very proper observation. Unfortunately, priorities are misplaced in the society today. The big companies are guilty of lending sponsorship and support to the most ‘lousy’ ventures. Some of them, reality shows which have no positive effect on the society. It is not my place to judge but, I think they can do better.

It is a very good concept from a very good bank. However, I would advise it is made an examination format competition. Let students be called to a venue to prove their worth. This format gives room for malpractice.
i think Nigeria is really experiencing infrastrucural decay and the role of banks can never be over emphasized.ist bank should use the best of essys written to help and lead the way for other banks to engage in proper national development.this essay should not just be about giving people money and making a name or advertising ist bank but rather the results should be used for proper national development

it is really an interestig topic that will go a long way to correct the wrong usage public utilities by most govt officials,hence pave a better way ofrpairing public properties found in most govt offices.(damaged cars,delapidated buildings etc)
